Ardel®
(polyarylate) Stock shapes extruded from Ardel® resin are specifically formulated to endure the damaging effects of UV light. When exposed to UV light, this unique material undergoes a molecular rearrangement resulting in the formation of a protective layer that essentially serves as a UV stabilizer. This inherent UV stability combined with superior retention of optical and mechanical properties make polyarylate an ideal choice for any application where weathering effects could pose a problem.
DuraPeek
(Polyetheretherketone) DuraPEEK is a high performance semi-crystalline thermoplastic. DuraPEEK's characteristics include high temperature performance, excellent wear properties, superior chemical resistance and outstanding toughness and strength. Currently Westlake is stocking DuraPEEK in film, rod and select sizes of sheet.
PES
(polyethersulfone) High resistance to heat and combustibility, low smoke emission, and transparency are the combination of properties possessed by stock shapes extruded from PES. These, coupled with light weight, good impact resistance, dimensional stability, and chemical resistance, make stock shapes extruded from PES resin useful in the electrical/electronics, aerospace/aircraft, automotive, and mass transit industries. PES stock shapes are also applicable for heat and fire safety, food service, and hospital and health care items.
Radel® R
(polyphenylsulfone) Stock shapes extruded from Radel® R resins offer a superior combination of high performance properties that include excellent thermal stability, outstanding toughness, and good environmental stress cracking resistance. These properties make Radel® R stock shapes attractive for a variety of demanding applications. The standard color of Radel® R is off white, but a transparent grade is available.
Tempalux®
(polyetherimide) An amorphous thermoplastic polyetherimide, stock shapes from ULTEM® resin possess a combination of useful characteristics, including high strength at elevated temperatures, high modulus, and broad chemical resistance. Tempalux stock shapes are inherently flame resistant with low smoke emission. Tempalux stock shapes display property retention and resistance to environmental stress cracking when exposed to a wide variety of chemicals. The standard color of Tempalux stock shapes is light amber. Glass filled grades appear tan or greenish in color. Tempalux rod, slab, and tubular bar are air annealed for stress relief.

Tempalux® 5000
(polyetherimide) An amorphous thermoplastic polyetherimide, stock shapes from ULTEM® resin possess a combination of useful characteristics, including high heat resistance, high strength at elevated temperatures, high modulus, and broad chemical resistance. Tempalux stock shapes are inherently flame resistant with low smoke emission. The standard color of Tempalux stock shapes is light amber.
Thermalux®
(polysulfone) Made from UDEL® polysulfone resin, these stock shapes remain stable, resisting creep and deformation under continuous load and elevated temperatures. They have high tensile strength and, as temperatures increase, flexural modulus remains high. Thermalux products will withstand exposure to soap, detergent solutions and some hydrocarbon oils, even at elevated temperatures under moderate stress levels. |
