Compression Molded

When deciding on a compression molded sheet versus an extruded sheet you will want to evaluate some distinct differences. Material stability, sheet size and yield versus cost, and surface finish are all factors worth considering.

High Performance Films

Extruded from a broad range of resins, Westlake high performance films have unique combinations of properties that include high temperature resistance, high strength, good chemical resistance and a variety of specialized properties that enable you to match a specific film's capabilities to your application needs.

Chemical Resistance

These are materials designed to handle acids and caustics that metals cannot.  These materials function in those environments from ambient temperatures up to 300° F and are compliant with several different agencies.  Some of those include FDA, USDA, UL 94-V0, FM 4910 and USP Class VI.

Static Control

These materials are used in areas where electrical discharge is considered a problem. Commonly used in the Semiconductor Industry handling circuit boards, hard disk drives, and integrated circuits. These products are also used for material handling applications, components in high-speed electronic printing and in areas where volatile air born particles would explode from an electrical charge.

High Performance

These products are used in applications that push the upper edges of performance in plastics. Uses in temperatures from 300°F to 550°F and varying degrees of chemical resistance. Many of these materials are used in the Semiconductor and Medical Industries.

Medical

Extruded and compression molded high performance thermoplastics used in the medical device industry. All stock medical products are typically produced from USP Class VI and FDA approved base resins, and they are lot controlled, traceable and stress relieved. Other features include chemical resistance, LASER markable, FDA approved pigments for coloring, dimensional stability and resistance to repeated autoclaving. Custom products available upon request.

Engineering

These materials are considered your basic building materials for the plastic industry. Used for proto typing to production runs they are for applications from ambient to 295° F in temperature and varying degrees of chemical resistance from mild to medium.
